Mission Statement
The Committee’s objective is to explore how 3D visualization technology can deliver tangible value to the retail consumer. While 3D has enormous potential as a merchandising enabler, digital content cannot currently be experienced consistently across platforms and devices. Standardization will be needed to deliver the benefits of 3D at scale.
Committee Work: Standards for 3D Consumer Assets
This sub-committee envisions standards that will inform the creation, delivery mode and appearance of 3D Assets to the end consumer, encompassing:
- Digital asset development methodology and parameters
- Product configuration and visual presentation
- Consumer experience validation
- Standardizing the way 3D product is created and visualized will allow fashion retailers to leverage their existing 3D assets and create significant commercial opportunities by optimizing their virtual product representations and consumer experience.
